I know you’re excited about this one, especially all of the Star Wars and Star Trek fans out there! Holograms are quickly becoming one of the most sought after pieces of technology and for good reason. And you wouldn’t believe where a lot of the research for holograms is taking place… in actual outer space.
Believe it not, there are real scientists who are currently projecting clear images into the darkness of space. This is along with other research that involves tiny lasers. I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely getting visions of an epic holographic Star Wars lightsaber battle in my mind.

This idea is already in the works at many different tech companies. They aim to use virtual reality headsets with a display in front of the user. And, while they might not quite be at the level you see portrayed in movies just yet, they’re definitely edging closer.
The idea of being able to talk to anyone from around the world is an incredible thought. Thankfully, Google Translate has already taken the first steps into this new, open reality. However, this is something that can definitely still be improved upon.
Demonstrations of new software has already been created that showcases how language can be translated in real-time. The hope is that one day you can speak directly into your phone in order to have full conversations with someone on the other end who speaks an entirely different language.

Not only does it look like Iron Man’s famous suit, the team that created it have also managed to fit it with a jet pack that will allow its user to fly. This includes a sturdy frame and stabilizers and is expected to become even more advanced via the use of leading robotics over the next few years.
Gone will be the days of having to sit and teach your child how to tie their shoes. Back to the Future fans might remember the famous self-tying Nike shoes that Marty McFly sports, and now, thanks to new sci-fi technology that’s right around the corner, you too can spare yourself the effort of tying your shoes.
The new shoes will feature a special app that you can use from your phone to be able to both loosen and tighten your shoes.
