Summer is a bit of a paradoxical time for taking vacations. If you intend to travel to a beautiful locale like the Caribbean or some other tropical region, you often want to wait until it’s cold in your part of the world. That way, you feel like you’re escaping the cold weather for something warmer!

But, Summertime is the only time of year the kids are out of school for an extended period of time. For many families, the best time to take a vacation is also the hottest season of the year. So, what are some of the best summer vacation destinations? Let’s take a look.

Vancouver, British Columbia

For most of the year, British Columbia is pretty cold. However, Vancouver becomes a very different city in the Summertime. If you’re looking to get out of the country without worrying about language barriers or lengthy plane rides, you should check out Vancouver.

The city is home to numerous festivals, concerts, and activities throughout the summer. Other popular summer activities include swimming in the gorgeous pools of the countless resorts in the city or playing in the sand at Kitsilano Beach.

Florence, Italy

Historic Florence, Italy, is a beautiful destination any time of year, but it’s even better to visit in the Summertime. For one thing, the weather is gorgeous in the summer months, peaking in the 80s during the day. The city is full of stunning classical architecture, making it fantastic for sightseeing.

If you’re a fan of the arts, there are plenty of museums and exhibits to visit. The works of various Italian masters are on display throughout the city. It’s worth noting, however, that Summertime is the peak of tourist season in Florence, so you’ll want to book your travel arrangements well ahead of when you’re planning to visit, or you might be paying a lot more than you expected for last-minute lodging.

Paris, France

The City of Light is surprisingly mild in the summer, with the average daytime temperatures being in the 70s. Paris itself needs no introduction: it’s one of the most beautiful cities globally, home to countless five-star restaurants, historical museums, and beautiful architecture. You can visit the Louvre in the morning before going out to a charming café in the afternoon and then seeing the Eiffel Tower at night.

Like with Florence, you’re advised to make travel plans well in advance. Paris is one of the most popular cities for travelers, and Summertime only sees more people flooding in to take in the sights.
